Evaluation Of Alternative Technologies

Service Description: The ABS Evaluation of Alternative Technologies (EAT) Program uses a stepwise process to evaluate the Best Available Technology (BAT) for solving a clients wastewater treatment problems.

Features: Unlike other evaluations, ABS carries out both an audit of the existing facilities and identifies areas for process optimization prior to introducing any new technologies, which cost the client money. The ABS approach uses a 7 step program:

Step 1 - Audit the existing system

Step 2 - Identify areas of improvement

Step 3 - Establish decision criteria with client

Step 4 - Desktop analysis and development of matrix

Step 5 - Pilot scale evaluation of best alternatives

Step 6 - Present report and recommendations

Step 7 - Follow-up and implementation

Benefits: The information from the EAT Program can be used to improve process efficiency, minimize operating and capital expenditure. The ABS EAT Program has many benefits:

1) Initially identifies process optimization alternatives.

2) Minimizes operating and capital expenditure.

3) Avoids unnecessary capital expenditure.

4) Technically sound problem-solving approach.
